A Day Tour in Los Angeles on a trip to California

Sunday, February 24, 2019
Los Angeles is one of the biggest cities in the United States, and its because it is such a big city, its attractions are often quite far apart. This means that using a car can be the best option for some visitors to get around the hundreds of square miles that make up Los Angeles.  However some visitors choose not to drive. The Metro, which includes the bus system is an alternative option. This public bus system runs more than 1,500 buses on 150 bus lines throughout the city.

We stopped by in LACMA on a Saturday afternoon. There was a fairly amount of people snapping photos. I did hear the best time to take pictures here are in the evening, where you can see the lamp posts are lit, but I did find it difficult to find good lighting for selfies. Very tough to also get a solo pic without others being in it, but it is what it is. We did not stay that long but if you have ample time and not familiar with the parking, you can parked in an underground garage close by for maybe an hour f or $16.

Can't say you've gone to LA if you haven't visited the Urban lights!

URBAN LIGHT is an assemblage sculpture of 202 vintage street light standards from the 1920s and 1930s. The lampposts are cast iron and range from 20 to 30 feet in height; many have been salvaged from Los Angeles neighborhoods.

This Urban Lights is part of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) it can be an ultimate go-to in LA. They have such an expansive and diverse permanent collection. LA Museums are relaxing, but they also provide an opportunity to learn about so many socially and historically relevant topics through visual and performative media.

Downtown Los Angeles contains many unique and hidden historic and architectural gems. Your best way to experience them is when you go on a tour. They can show you the inside of many of beautiful and historic buildings including PacMutual, Bradbury, Central Library and Old Gas Company.

Downtown LA is definitely worth exploring while in California.

If you are Filipino born and raised in the Philippines. Then you will definitely treasure this gem, I can say its been almost 10 years since I ate Jollibee foods. It brings back a lot of good memories growing up.

Have you ever been to Los Angeles? Let us know your experience and share it with us on the comment below.

  10. I'm from Northern California, but I have friends and relatives who live in L.A. I look forward to taking the 7-hour drive down to see them. There are so many wonderful spots to enjoy along the way and within the greater L.A. area. It's great to see what a fun time you had on your recent trip!

  16. I love LA but it has been years since I was there. I used to go there for work when I was a National Board Certified Teacher. We worked with LA schools. Each time we went we did our own themed tour. My favorite was our Death Tour, where we scouted out the places where famous people had died. I know, a bit morbid but we did visit some great places.
