Visit The Southernmost Point Buoy of Key West

Sunday, July 1, 2018
Southernmost Point is one of the iconic landmark stands at the furthest south tip of Key West since 1983 surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.  Definitely a tourist spot that everyone wants to take a photo with.   It's one of the big highlights of Key West, Florida trip we took on last week of April 2018.  We purposely planned our trip during the weekdays so we can avoid the weekend crowd.  There is street parking, but good luck on getting a spot.  When we got there, there was a line but not very bad.  What's surprising to me was that everyone was waiting in line patiently for their turn to take the photos.  But on average, most people takes about 5 minutes taking pictures with this giant buoy.  We talk to some couple while waiting in the line and offered to take their picture in exchange for them taking ours.

This Southernmost Point Buoy has made for more picturesque photos.

This anchored concrete buoy signifies you're not only 90 miles to Cuba, but you're also at the southernmost point of the continental United States.  People from all over the world line for their photos in front of Key West’s Southernmost Point.  Located just south of the 24 North Hotel shuttle at the intersection of Whitehead and South Streets.

It doesn't matter what time of day you come to the southernmost point to take a photograph it will be memorable and an amazing keepsake from your trip to Key West.  This is a must-have if you're ever coming to the southernmost Continental tip of the United States!

Hope you enjoy this post feel free to share it and don't forget to follow us for more adventures.

    1. I admire the people in Key West for their positive vibes despite of the damage that was made by the recent hurricane. I don't think this concrete buoy was affected because for me it looks perfectly fine.
