Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel

Monday, October 23, 2017
We stayed at Sheraton Hotel downtown Memphis  for five nights for my husband's conference.  The hotel  is located near the convention center overlooking the Mississippi River close by the Bass Pro Shop.  We arrived Sunday afternoon a 6-hr drive from Knoxville. We were greeted by the Valet outside as soon as we parked our car.  Parking at the hotel was $26 a night.  They only offered valet parking.  No self parking.  Check in was easy as the front desk personnel gave us everything we requested, they gave us the Elvis Presley Suite so awesome!

Also, having an access to the Club level was great.  They allowed us to come in to the VIP lounge whenever we wanted for refreshments. The breakfast in the club lounge was good.  They kept their breakfast foods like: bagels, scrambled eggs, bacon, etc.,  are well stocked. For  dinner they serve a tray of cheese and crackers, veggies and fruits platter with dips, and other finger foods. They offered  complimentary coffee/tea and fruits juice all day.  The employees working in the VIP lounge were great.  They were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Elvis Presley Suite 😍

The living room decor is quite modern and the room was clean.

This is our first visit in Memphis and we all like this place. Our room offers a great view of downtown,  absolutely amazing! The open atmosphere is great. My Dad and I was thrilled on the glass wall elevator if your afraid of heights like my Mom you might need to stay on the side close to the elevator door, otherwise the experience was breathtaking. I think we ride the elevator like  a 100 times. 😜

My mom has a fear of heights but she loves staring out the glass window. 😄

Their smile is my ultimate joy.

Formal dining

Our favorite hang-out during lunch and dinner. We like their lightning and decor.

A full kitchen well stocked by Starbucks coffee.

We got three-rooms on the 19th floor with a nice view of downtown.  The room was adequate for our needs.  They gave us two double beds for my parent's, another room with a Queen bed for my husband and myself, a full kitchen and a living room.

Our room stay including the VIP passes and valet parking are all free -- just because its a part of my husband deal on this conference. He's part of the board member and  this is one of the benefits that we got to enjoy. We are very thankful with this privileged.

During our stay I could say  at least  the downtown is very peaceful. The whole week that we where there.  I took my parent's outside for a walk on a day time and we've seen quite a few Memphis police car around. This big city can be so overwhelming when you are not used to it.

Parent's bedroom with overlooking view of  Mississippi River.

Each room has coffee maker, fridge and TV.

Our bedroom with the view of downtown and the Pyramid building of  Bass Pro Shop.

This is one of the three- bathrooms on this suite. A marble bathroom with a hairdryer and bath amenities is also provided.

Nice shower by the way.
The good thing about downtown Memphis, everything is easy access. There's plenty of  restaurant and shopping stores around. If you don't mind walking the Peabody Hotel is only 10-15 mins. away they have this famous Duck-walk show (pretty interesting).  You can also ride a trolley that glides through historic downtown will take you to Beale Street, National Civil Rights Museum and along the mighty Mississippi River.

I also recommend to take a tour to Graceland the famous "Elvis Presley's Mansion" to complete your experience to Memphis. On which I would share later on my next post to our Memphis, TN vacation destination. Hope you enjoy our photos as much as we enjoy this once in a life time experience.

  7. The Elvis Suite! How cool is that?! Your parents look like they are really enjoying themselves, awesome that you went with them. I'm taking a cruise with my parents next month and I'm really excited to let them experience that.

  9. Awww ... you guys are so cute! This is a lovely sweet! I think parking is horrendous in most places and I think it's robbery for hotels not to offer free parking for their guests! However, the hotel itself is great and the suite is definitely lovely.

  13. I love how you vacation with your parents. I have had the opportunity to go on a few trips with my parents as an adult. The times spent are great memories!

Three bedroom!! Nice!! Most places we have stayed have only had a max of two bedrooms. This would be great for our whole family and my parents to stay in.
