5 Modes Of Travel To Try Before You Die

Monday, May 29, 2017
Travel isn’t always about the destination. Sometimes it’s all about the journey. How you get there and what you do en route can be just as interesting and exciting as the places that you stay in. So don’t just see it as that boring part of your vacation or travel plan. Make the journey part of your travel story that you’ll be talking about for the rest of your life. How will you get to your next destination?

RV - Camping doesn’t have to be about tents and uncomfortably sleeping on the hard ground. Luxury RVs get you where you’re going and allow you to immerse yourself in the end destination too. More and more campsites have facilities that allow you to park up, hook up, and enjoy a much-needed stay surrounded by gorgeous landscapes. It’s also a great way to meet like-minded people. There's plenty of places to buy (and sell) RV's whenever you decide on getting one, so checking out a reputable vendor such as RV Wheelator would be a good idea.

Private Plane - You may think that private jet rental is beyond the limits of your wallet, but there are plenty of ways you can enjoy this mode of travel on your budget. A private plane is there when you need it and can often fly direct to where you want to be without the hassle of long distance transfers. These jets are smaller and more personal too. Share with your closest friends, or enjoy the VIP lifestyle with a partner. Where would you fly to?

Yacht - There are hundreds of boat owners near you that will be willing to take you where you want to go around the coastline. Some are luxury yachts that offer a complete butler service and plenty of pampering. But if you’re after something modest to get you further along the coast, then a private boat hire could be ideal. Imagine the views, the wind in your hair, and all that fresh sea air. Perhaps there will even be time for a spot of fishing to catch your next meal?

Cycling - You don’t have to be super-fit to enjoy a cycling tour. There are some pretty incredible ones to enjoy in Europe that will take you through spectacular scenery. Of course, you don’t have to follow a tour. Download a map of the best cycle paths for the region you want to explore. Pop a tent and some supplies in a backpack or cycling trailer and get going. You could head for a pub tour, a coastal leg stretcher, or tackle something physically challenging like a mountain route.

Motorbike Road Trip - You can go alone, with a pal, or become part of a group of motorcyclists exploring the roads in your region of choice. Many bike riders feel a sense of freedom that is different from a road trip by car. You can take your tests to get your license, buy or rent a bike, and then head on out to wherever you want to be. What mode of transport do you want to try next?

  1. I have been in a car, on a train, in a plane and on a cruise ship. I have ridden a bike but not for traveling. I love this post. Makes me think about vacationing in a whole new light!

  3. I've been on a cruise ship, that was probably my favorite way to travel so far! I would LOVE to fly on a private plane. I like flying, but I don't like the hassle of dealing with all the other passengers, lol. That would be a dream, to just hop on and go!

  4. There are 2 things I haven't tried yet on this list! RV travel and private jet (oh how I wish!). Surely the next achievable thing for me is an RV.

  5. One of my favorite ways I've traveled lately has been by train. I look the train across the country to visit my brother, and it was such a great experience. The only one (out of those you mentioned) that I've experienced was by bike. Although I really only ride across town!

  6. Hubby and I have been daydreaming about taking an RV trip but we aren't sure if we want to take the kiddos. I don't ever see myself cycling anywhere. The others are possibilities, after we get our RV trip in, of course.
