We spend five days in San Jose area last September of 2016 . I thought its nice to take a trip down to Silicon Valley and visit/see the technology giants like Facebook, Google, Apple etc. Most of these big tech companies are not open to the public nor do they give tours. Without knowing someone who works there you'll only be able to see the building from the outside.
Silicon Valley is most important place in West Cost USA. The "valley" in its name refers to the Santa Clara Valley in Santa Clara County, which includes the city of San Jose and surrounding cities and towns, where the region has been traditionally centered.
Google complex is open to everybody during business hours.

In front of Apple's sign the Apple HQ on Infinite Loop.
Outside the Facebook building has a giant "Like' button as their sign, a nice photo OP.
In general, security is high at the high technology corporations. Intel as mentioned does have a museum.
