Visiting Becker Farm | Apple Picking Part 1

Monday, October 21, 2024

Two things that I love about Fall season is crisp fresh cold air and going down to the farm for apple  Over the past many years we try to explored many local and beautiful farms around the area. And for couple years it was all the more exciting as we were able to take our little boy with us. Becker Farm is a place we would visit twice each year. But recently we put it in a rotation with other farms that are just as fun and a better value.

Becker Farms is quite the establishment for all your fall fun activities. But the entrance fee can be quite expensive to get the full experience. Some main attraction was to sample some of their wines and ciders. Check out the farm animals and get some apple goodies. The apples are plentiful on the trees but are not labeled as to which variety they are . Not to mention an area to watch live music outside and plenty of shade to sit in while listening to the music.

๐Ÿ“Œ  Parent's Visit America

After looking for pick your own crops farm on the Knoxville area we came across the Fruit and Berry Patch. Located in 4407 McCloud Rd. Knoxville, TN 37938. Early summer starts the pick your own schedule. Blueberries, Raspberries, blackberries, grapes, peaches then apples galore. The whole farm wasn't so big and not too commercialized but we all having a great time.

Fruits may be picked from daylight to dark most of the summer. You pick the fruit  your desired then weigh it at the posted price.  There's a store where you can buy homemade jellies from their berries and the fresh pick sweetcorn is my favorite.

It was berry season so you could go pick your own berries

๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ  Apple Season

This is our 3rd annual visit to Browns Berry Patch. Brown's Berry Patch farm is located near the shores of Lake Ontario along the Seaway Trail, in beautiful Waterport, NY. There were so many people that time it was unbelievable. They even had people directing the traffic in the parking lots. This year we picked Golden Delicious and Red Delicious Apples. Although it was a little bit chilly, we had a great time. While we were on the farm we got a chance to eat as much as apple, cherries and sugar plum as we want. There is no shortage of fruits farm to pick from.

Inside the store, on  the side has an ice cream shop, the other were giving out samples of apples and hot cider, and in the back was a bakery. Outside there were some activities for the whole family. There was a corn maze, food stands, an entertaining show, and hay rides. The one thing I had to do though was to feed the goats and llama and I really enjoy it :). Brown's is a great place to spend an afternoon, an evening, or an entire day enjoying the best that Western New York has to offer.

The Brown's Berry Patch | Part 1

Tuesday, July 5, 2011
My husband and I went to Browns Berry Patch located near the shores of Lake Ontario along the Seaway Trail, in beautiful Waterport, NY.  For a relaxing and inexpensive day of cherry picking! Taste the cherries before you buy. There's several varieties to choose, picking tips: select plump, shiny and firm cherries that are free of wrinkles, blemishes and bruises. They should be firm to the touch but not hard.

The darker they are, the sweeter the cherry.
