Visit Emma Wood State Beach on your trip to Ventura, California

Friday, November 30, 2018
Emma Wood State Beach is a linear state park that parallels Highway 101 west of the city of Ventura. Moderate temperatures help make Emma Wood State Beach popular for surf fishing, swimming (although the water is chilly), biking, beach combing, photography, whale watching and wildlife viewing.  It attracts a variety of wildlife including raccoons, songbirds and great blue herons.  Dolphins are occasionally seen just offshore.  The park also features the crumbling ruins of a World War II coastal artillery site.  The offshore Channel Islands can be seen from the beach.

Emma Wood State Beach offers family camping with fantastic views.  The campsite is for fully self-contained vehicles (RV) only.  Tents are not permitted.  No water, restrooms, electricity, fire rings, or phones or dump station are available.   You can make reservations from mid-May through Labor Day. After that it is first-come, first-serve. Keep in mind that high-tides may close the campground at any time.

I love being on the beach it’s my favorite place  – where the sky touches the sea.
I am happy anywhere I can see the ocean!

Fishing with a view.
Kayaking Rentals
One of the beautiful sunset at the beach.

You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.

It’s time for a new adventure with our Jeep.  Let’s go to the beach

    1. I live in the South and on winter it can be cold. California esp. the SoCal has always a perfect weather all year round. I wish we could move there one day.

  4. I kind of like the tents are not allowed. People loves them but I don't think they're fun.

  5. Sunsets at the beach are the best. I think I would opt for watching those instead of learning to surf. It seems a lot safer for me.

  6. What gorgeous views! I live very near the east coast beaches and love the sunrises. Being not a morning person, I feel like I'd enjoy those west coast sunrises even more.
