Tuesday, November 6, 2018
Everyone knows the further you go up North  the vibrant fall colors display draw a lot of visitors.  But did you know that the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee puts on its own stunning display of gold, red, yellow and orange as the temperatures cool down and the days shorten?

The landscape here is populated with sugar maples, hickories, sweetgum, scarlet oaks, red maples and nearly 100 other species of native trees.  This colorful show from Mother Nature will last not that long.  It’s another great reason to make a trip to eastern Tennessee and take a break from your hectic everyday life.

We decided to join a million other leaf-peepers in the Great Smoky Mountains.
This colorful show from Mother Nature will last not that long. 🍃🍂🍁

Mother Nature’s vivid showcase of fall foliage color always provides a treat for those lucky enough to see them.

Keep in mind, the most popular way to see the foliage is driving. Be aware that Cades Cove and Newfound Gap Road congested in the month of October. Consider to visit early morning to beat the traffic. Hiking has become an increasingly popular as well we've seen few trails parking that was really crowded like:  Laurel Falls and  Alum Cave Trail to Mt. Le Conte.

The mountain areas are especially beautiful this time of year.

Do you have a favorite place to view the dramatic fall colors?  Let us know about them and share it with us on the comment below.

  1. I love your beautiful pictures. Here in New York we also get awesome colorful foliage of greens, yellows, oranges, reds and gold. Fall is the best time to head for a short road trip just for the scenery. I have been to the mountains in Tennessee and hope to return.

    1. I used to live in upstate NY the fall season was a little bit early there compare to East TN. Mainly because of the weather temperature, we love going on a road trip whenever we get a chance.

  4. I have only been "through" the Smokies once and didn't really take the time to enjoy their splendor. I definitely want to go back when I can have a little time.

  12. wow fall doesn't look like that here in Arizona at all!

It's beautiful! so many tall tree's and mountains everywhere, it looks so peaceful. I bet the air is so clean!

I hadn't heard much of Tennessee until my parents went a few years back and they said they had a great time there. They went to the Jack Daniels Brewery and got quite a lot of Whiskey's. They had the No 1, 2,3 ,4, 5, etc. They all tasted the same to me though! (whiskey isn't my favorite, at all!)

    Have you ever been there?

    Great post!

oh yeah, amazing pictures by the way

    1. Actually we did go to Jack Daniels Distillery. I personally do not drink whiskey but going on a tour was really fun. And yes Smokies are pretty all year round however fall season is my favorite just because the trees are more prettier and the weather is more nicer.
